Oh Laura Anne, what a young woman you have become, not only an American but a Spaniard too! I am so proud of the person you are, and rejoice that this experience has not only been so marvelous for you, but has left a permanent mark on your soul. with love and a great deal of respect, Aunt Mary
Nothing is really over. the memories, the experiences, the friends, and most certainly your Spanish family will be part of who you are forever. You have been enriched by this experience. I know that you will return to your second home in Sevilla, in the years that come; it won't be the same but it will be good! Thank for sharing this journey with me. For my part, I can hardly wait to give you a big hug! I love you more than all the steps you have taken in your silver shoes! m
It is definitely not over. Even when you are as old as your father--which admittedly is ancient--you will have wonderful memories. And like me, remembering my trip of 35 years ago, I'm sure you will see your study abroad experience as one of your best experiences--truly life enriching and shaping.
Thank you for sharing your adventures! I loved every single blog entry. You really helped this blogee to vicariously share your experiences the last five months.
What I can't understand is, since you were so fully immersed in life and culture as a Spaniard (incredibly including bull fighting), how come you didn't get to cut out the "tongues" of your shoes as your reward for being so exceptional?!!
